Grant Thornton is looking for an experienced Audit Manager to join our team.
We are seeking a strong audit professional with solid expertise in IFRS, audit methodology and team management who will take responsibility for audit engagements, ensure high-quality delivery and build long-term relationships with our clients.
In this role, you will work closely with Partners, lead audit teams and contribute to the development of the firm's audit practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Engagement Partner in defining the objectives, scope and overall strategy of audit engagements;
- Plan and manage audit engagements from the planning stage through to the issuance of final reports;
- Manage audit engagements while ensuring effective control over timelines, resources, budgets and quality;
- Coordinate audit teams and ensure effective allocation of resources;
- Select and assign appropriately experienced team members based on engagement requirements and deadlines;
- Ensure that audit engagements are performed in accordance with International Standards on Auditing (ISA), Grant Thornton methodology and applicable quality requirements;
- Review working papers, audit files and audit programs prepared by engagement teams;
- Review and monitor the completeness and quality of audit documentation maintained in electronic audit systems;
- Assess clients' internal control and accounting systems, identifying significant risks, control deficiencies and areas for improvement;
- Participate in forming the audit opinion and preparing audit reports;
- Prepare Management Letters covering identified internal control and accounting deficiencies and related recommendations;
- Escalate significant client matters, risks and issues requiring Partner attention in a timely manner;
- Manage communication with clients' senior management and participate in key engagement and closing meetings;
- Present audit findings and recommendations to clients;
- Monitor engagement financial performance, including budgets, time costs and profitability;
- Ensure timely and accurate input of engagement-related information into the firm's internal management information systems (MIS);
- Coach, mentor and support the professional development of audit team members;
- Participate in performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback;
- Support the preparation of proposals, tenders and other business development initiatives;
- Contribute to building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and prospective clients;
- Cooperate with other Grant Thornton offices and teams on international and cross-office engagements;
- Perform other professional responsibilities as assigned by the Partner.
Requirements:
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Audit, Economics or a related field;
- Relevant professional experience in audit, including experience in independently managing audit engagements and teams;
- Excellent knowledge of IFRS and accounting principles;
- Strong knowledge of International Standards on Auditing (ISA);
- Good knowledge of applicable tax and labor legislation;
- Experience in preparing audit reports and Management Letters;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail;
- Strong leadership and people management skills;
- Ability to effectively coordinate audit teams;
- Strong project, budget, resource and time management skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients;
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
- Proficiency in MS Office, spreadsheets and professional audit/accounting software;
- Fluency in Russian and English;
- Willingness to travel;
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, DipIFR or equivalent will be considered an advantage.
